weapon of choice

all photos taken via canon IXUS75 point and shoot camera...ahhhhh yeah...

Out in the country

Experimenting with the widescreen settings on the canon poot and shoot. Was recently on holiday down on philip island, which is not what i expected with vast expanses of beautiful open country. Have always liked a wide angled photo and with this have taken the photo with the horizon line at the botom of the picture to embrace the sky. Mangaed to catch some interesting cloud effects while also showing the building unique to the area.

I love taking photos of old buildings and then close ups of particular sections of corrosion such as here at the old train station

night time photography

The first photos are experiments with taking photos at night time. The camera I am using is a canon digital. I have been playing with the exposure to allow more light in, however in order to take them I required a tripod to hold the camera still.

As you can see above the lack of a tripod leaves much to be desired

Although sometimes interesting effects can come from a little bit of movement. I had to hold the camera up high to avoid security fencing over the highway and at the last second the camera moved. I quite like the wavy look of the car lights with the city beyond still being recognisable
And finally this image was taken at night, however I was right under a street light, with another light accross the road. As you can see a little to much light entered the lense, however I am still happy with the result. The colour is quite rich, even if there is a little to much road.
